AMMAN — A delegation from the Senate has participated in a consultative coordination meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Group at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which took place alongside the 148th IPU Assembly meeting in Geneva.

The delegation, headed by Senator Khaled Bakkar, chairman of the administrative committee, proposed a draft resolution as part of the urgent agenda of the IPU meeting. The resolution called for an immediate cessation of Israeli aggression against Gaza and for facilitating access to humanitarian aid into the besieged Strip, in line with a similar request from Algeria.

Jordan, Algeria and Palestine were appointed to negotiate with other countries, presenting similar urgent items to be consolidated and presented on behalf of the supporting political groups, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra,

The Senate delegation met with representatives from Palestine and Algeria to develop an action plan to cooperate with other participating delegations and rally more support for the Jordanian-Algerian resolution.
