AMMAN — Criminal Investigation Department (CID) cadres have arrested seven people suspected of using stolen credit cards, the Public Security Department (PSD) said on Tuesday. They are suspected of spending JD30,000 on stolen foreign credit cards, the PSD said in a statement.

The CID’s cyber crime combating unit tracked the payments and used the collected data to locate  the suspects, who were arrested in various locations and at different times. During the investigation, the suspects confessed to buying the stolen credit cards on the Internet and using them to pay bills and financial debts of individuals and companies.

The CID urged the public to not be tricked into using stolen credit cards and to report any similar incidents immediately.
