AMMAN — Industry, Trade and Supply Minister Yousef Shamali and an industrial economic delegation on Tuesday in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, met with representatives of the commercial sector and businesspeople at the Sharqiya Chamber of Commerce.

Shamali said that joint interests require doubling efforts by the public and private sectors to increase the bilateral trade volume, establish investment projects and exchange expertise in various fields, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Saudi investments in the Kingdom are estimated at $10 billion, mainly in the transport, infrastructure, energy, financial, commercial and tourism fields, Petra added.

President of the Jordan Chamber of Industry Fathi Jaghbeer said that Saudi Arabia is among the top commercial partners to Jordan and ranks third in terms of markets receiving Jordanian exports with an annual amount of some JD505 million.

Chairman of the Sharqia Chamber of Commerce Badr Al Rziza highlighted the importance of enhancing trade, joint investments, exchanging expertise and sustaining communication between both countries’ private sectors and businesspeople.
