SSC hears victim testimony in Zarqa assault case

AMMAN — The State Security Court (SSC) on Monday listened to the testimony of the 16-year-old boy, Saleh, who was brutally attacked by a group of men who cut off his hands and left him blind in one eye in Zarqa a month and a half ago.
Saleh told the court his account of the story and the circumstances of the attack by 17 men, according to a SSC statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Following the victim's testimony, the court adjourned the session until December 13 to hear more witness testimonies.
Security forces arrested 16 of the suspects while one is still at large. The suspects, among them the fugitive, who will be tried in absentia, face multiple charges, including terrorism, kidnapping, indecent assault, causing a permanent disability, resisting security forces and possessing a firearm without a licence.
