Vocational skills development workshop to kick-off Thursday

AMMAN — The EU-funded “Technical Assistance to the Skills for Employment and Social Inclusion Programme for Jordan” is preparing to launch a capacity building workshop on quality assurance and management in Aqaba, Thursday through Friday.

These workshops offer specialised training for key sector staff personnel, including staff from Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Higher Education. Participants will receive International Accreditation in the field.

The programme focuses on enhancing quality at vocational secondary schools and developing labour market demand-driven qualifications, jointly with industry experts and professional associations. About 100 people are expected to attend from the private sector, in addition to 40 principals from Ministry of Education vocational secondary schools, a statement e-mailed to The Jordan Times said.

“We aim to establish a common quality assurance and management system for the whole Employment-Technical and Vocational Education and Training (E-TVET) sector,” said E-TVET Council Directorate  official Sayel Alhadid.
