AMMAN — Warm and pleasant weather is forecast for this week as the country remains under the impact of an upper trough, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said on Saturday.

Temperatures this week will be around their annual average during this time of year as the upper trough started affecting the country on Saturday, according to a JMD meteorologist.

“Temperatures in Amman will be around and a little above their annual average of 23°C during the day and 10°C at night,” the meteorologist told The Jordan Times.

A slight rise in mercury levels is forecast on Sunday, when moderate spring weather is expected, with temperatures in the capital ranging between a high of 24°C and a low of 12°C, while winds will be northwesterly moderate, the JMD said.

Another rise in temperatures is forecast on Monday when the weather will be pleasant in most of the country and relatively hot in Aqaba and the Jordan Valley.

Daytime temperatures in Amman will reach a maximum of 27°C, dropping to a minimum of 15°C at night and winds will be southwesterly moderate, according to the department.

Temperatures on Tuesday will remain above their annual average during this time of year as the country remains under the impact of the upper trough, according to the JMD meteorologist, who requested anonymity.

It will be warm and relatively hot in Aqaba and the Jordan Valley, while temperatures in the capital will range between a high of 26°C and a low of 14°C, with northwesterly moderate winds turning to brisk in the afternoon, the JMD meteorologist said.
