Warm, sunny weekend expected

AMMAN — Warm weather and plenty of sunshine are forecast for the weekend as the country will be affected by an upper trough on Friday, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said on Thursday.
Temperatures between Friday and Sunday are expected to be four to six degrees above their annual average of 16°C during this time of year, a JMD weather forecaster said.
A rise in temperatures is forecast for Friday, when the weather will be fair in most parts of the country and warm in Aqaba and the Jordan Valley, the meteorologist added, noting that it will become relatively cold at night and fair in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
Temperatures in Amman will reach 20°C during the day, dropping to 11°C at night, while winds will be southeasterly moderate to brisk, raising dust in the badia.
Another rise in temperatures is expected on Saturday, when the weather will be fair in most parts of the country and warm in Aqaba and the Jordan Valley, while at night it will be relatively cold, according to the meteorologist, who preferred to remain unnamed.
Temperatures in the capital will range between a high of 22°C and a low of 11°C, with southeasterly moderate winds.
The JMD said the Kingdom will be affected on Sunday by an extension of a weak Red Sea trough, which is forecast to cause unstable weather conditions that will bring light rain, but the weather will be warm and sunny, and relatively cold at night.
Winds will be northwesterly moderate and temperatures in Amman will reach a maximum of 22°C during the day and drop to a minimum of 12°C at night.
