Wasatyah Municipality gets half-million-euro grant from Italian agency

AMMAN — The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation has offered Irbid’s Wasatyah Municipality a financial grant of half a million euros to improve the services offered and recruiting Jordanian and Syrian refugee workers.
The municipality’s mayor, Rafiq Awawdah said that the Italian grant will be dedicated to improving the region’s roads and to purchase two cleaning machineries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The six-month project, that will be implemented under the supervision of the Italian agency in cooperation with the municipality, will begin by the end of the next month, he said, noting that 60 per cent of workers will be Jordanians and 40 per cent Syrian refugees.
