Water Ministry uncovers illegal excavator factory in Amman

AMMAN — The Water Ministry/Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ), in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate (PSD) and other stakeholders, detected an illegal excavator factory in Amman’s Rajm Al Shami area.
Officials impounded the excavators and other heavy machinery at the central warehouses and arrested three people.
The ministry said that in its ongoing campaign on water theft cases, a lathing warehouse was found in the area illegally manufacturing excavators.
Officials identified the perpetrators as people of an Arab nationality and a Jordanian citizen, according to a ministry statement.
The ministry praised the efforts of PSD personnel for their work in the campaign to control water resources. The ministry also called on the public to report any suspected water theft by calling 117116.
