Najjar, Tayseer heat up Speed Test Championship

AMMAN — The fourth round of the Speed Test Championship kicks off on Friday with the participation of 50 drivers including one from Oman at SOFEX Racetrack in Marka.

The event will witness a heated competition between Ayman Najjar, winner of the third round, and second-placed winner Mohammed Tayseer, who is leading the overall standings.

The participation of Omani driver Mohammed Abu Khaled will add excitement to the round which will also have Ehab Surafa, Ahmed Zeidan, Khatchik Shadian, Raed Dahshan, Salem Taimeh, in addition to others.

The Speed Test will have one women driver Lina Hadidi.

Jordan Motorsport CEO Othman Naseef told The Jordan Times it is expected to be a great event.

“This is the round before the last round so we are expecting a lot of rivalry among drivers. The event will also have new faces in addition to veteran drivers so it will have this unique mix that will make it an exciting round,” he said.

“As usual the event will have two heats with the best 10 drivers competing in the third heat. We hope that everyone will have a safe Speed and enjoy the event,” he added. 

The third round witnessed the reign of Najjar who beat all odds and overcame the 55 drivers with an amazing 1m09.08s in his Mitsubishi Proto.

He was followed by Tayseer with 1m09.21s in his Mitsubishi Evo 6 and Yazan Qatan in the third spot with 1m10.44s in his Mitsubishi Evo 8.

Ihab Shurafa secured fourth place with 1m10.48s, while Khaled Juma won fifth place with 1m10.51s.

 

Lina Hadidi took the Women’s Cup and Ibrahim Bajeh won the Palestinian Participation Cup.
