AMMAN — The Ministry of Tourism on Wednesday announced that the “Urdun Jannah” (Our Jordan is paradise) programme, which encourages domestic tourism, will continue to operate during Eid Al Adha. Trips will begin on the second day of the holiday.

The ministry and the Jordan Tourism Board supports the programme and provides 50 per cent of its total costs.

In a press statement, the ministry called on the public to take advantage of the programme’s promotional offers and visit archaeological and tourist sites in all the Kingdom’s governorates. The ministry stressed its keenness to match the cost of trips, which include transportation, overnight stays in camps, hotels and meals, with the Jordanian family budget.

The ministry indicated that all information, including tourist destinations, provided services, trip prices and reservations, can be viewed through the “Jannah.jo” application. People can contact 065008877 — 91040 for additional inquiries, the ministry indicated.

According to the statement, all sites have the necessary sterilisation materials and instructive posters and pamphlets to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. All employees are also required to wear masks and gloves.

Visitors will be asked to fully comply with all precautionary and preventive measures, including physical distancing and wearing masks.
