AMMAN — The 14th Global Entrepreneurship Week, under the patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya, chairperson of the Princess Sumaya University for Technology’s (PSUT) board of trustees, concluded on Wednesday.

The event was organised by the PSUT’s Queen Rania Centre for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) in partnership with Zain Jo through the Zain Innovation Campus, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

On behalf of Princess Sumaya, PSUT’s Acting President, Wijdan Abul Haija delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, noting it helps innovators and distinguished individuals from various fields to impart their experiences.

The Global Entrepreneurship Week is “an exceptional opportunity” to learn about the challenges and needs of other global markets, which allows young people to gain a better understanding of the characteristics of global markets and go beyond the limits of the local job market, she added.

She noted that universities would be a hub for developing innovative and commercially viable solutions to the greatest existential, social and economic challenges, notably, it would provide solutions for climate change, clean energy, fresh water, food security, cancer, autism and infectious diseases.

Universities are a place for improving innovation and entrepreneurship, she said, adding that linking talented individuals and allowing them work together as research teams to examine challenges could make them more effective.

The princess also expressed thanks to the QRCE staff, notably for their efforts in making the 14th Global Entrepreneurship Week a success.
