AMMAN — The Jordan Times distributes on Monday the 33rd issue of Al Qibla newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Great Arab Revolt.

The newspaper dedicates its editorial to discuss the new Arab spirit following the revolt. It also highlights difficulties and challenges the Arabs faced over the years and how they ended triumphant. It also stresses that when nations revolt, they can make the change they aspire to. It also urged the Arabs to defend their religion, history and achievements.

The four-page paper, which stopped printing in 1924, includes in the issue at-a-glance news about developments in Amsterdam, Paris and Russia's support to Romania during the World War I.

It also features news published in other newspapers about the Arab revolt.

The paper also focuses on news of the fledgling Kingdom of Hijaz, underlining a state of stability and prospertity among residents. Stories about pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca and minor pilgrimage (Umra) are also featured in Al Qibla.

The distribution of the paper (1916-1924) by The Jordan Times and other local dailies is part of celebrations of the centennial of the Great Arab Revolt.
