4th Conference for French-Speaking Business Owners to commence on Monday

AMMAN — Under Royal patronage, the 4th Conference for French-Speaking Business Owners is scheduled to commence under the theme: "Jordan: The Land of Promising Opportunities for International Investors” on Monday in the Dead Sea area.

Organised by the Jordan Businessmen Association (JBA), in cooperation with a group of French-speaking businessmen, the conference is expected to welcome some 200 investors and economic experts in various fields, as well as several local, Arab and international companies and institutions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday.

JBA President and head of the conference's preparatory committee, Hamdi Tabbaa, said that this year’s conference represents the first time that the event will be held in a non-French-speaking country.

The conference is expected to see the participation of 16 countries, including Jordan, and features 12 sessions during which 60 figures are scheduled to take the podium.

He said that the two-day event constitutes an "important" opportunity to enhance trade and investment cooperation between French-speaking companies and countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

The JBA head noted that the conference provides participants with an opportunity to expand their networks and reach out to business owners. 

The conference will help facilitate access to French-speaking markets, and provide "new" grounds for building trade and investment ties, allowing for further networking opportunities through joint meetings, Tabbaa added.

The event also provides an opportunity for investors to assess Jordan's investment opportunities, and exchange expertise in diverse fields, especially in the technology, artificial intelligence and renewable energy industries, along with other ventures that support the stimulation of innovation, he added. 

According to Tabbaa, the conference includes women’s empowerment and startup development, in addition to enhancement of the role of the French language as an "important" means in doing business, and mechanisms to enhance trade and investment relations with Francophone-African countries.

Business community representatives from France, Belgium, Tunisia, Algeria, Canada, Romania, Ivory Coast, Egypt, UAE, Croatia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Benin, Palestine and Senegal, in addition to Jordan, are scheduled to participate in the conference.
