ACCD, national family council sign pact to develop educational methods

AMMAN — The National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA) and the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) on Wednesday signed a cooperation protocol to implement the ACCD’s “Education for Hope” model. 

The agreement was signed by NCFA Secretary General Mohammad Miqdadi and ACCD Secretary General Hasan Bilawi, according to an ACCD statement. 

The protocol is a new step for the partnership between the ACCD and the NCFA, which will contribute to developing educational methods to help children enhance their future contribution to the development of their country, Bilawi said.

“The ACCD’s model aims to cultivate hope in children by developing an enlightened consciousness that unleashes their critical thinking and creative abilities, and prepares them for fully integrated participation on a local and global scale,” Bilawi added. 

During the signing Miqdadi pointed out that the protocol is part of the NCFA’s faith in cooperation and a “desire to create new horizons”, which would institutionalise efforts within the fields of children’s rights and education.  

He added that the protocol translates the NCFA’s belief in joint efforts with various local, regional and international institutions to support the role of families in society and direct their abilities into integrating with national priorities within the field of children’s rights. 

The protocol, which will extend for a period of two years, seeks to implement the “Education for Hope” model in four Arab countries. 

The model aims at cultivating the role of families, schools and the media towards children’s education and upbringing, and garnering the public’s support for this cause.
