AMMAN — The Labour Ministry and the German Federal Employment Agency on Tuesday reactivated an agreement to employ Jordanians in Germany in several sectors, including nursing.
The reactivation of the agreement reflects continuous efforts to enhance cooperation between Jordan and Germany in the fields of labour and marketing Jordanian competencies in the European country, according to a ministry statement.
Labour Minister Nayef Istitieh and Executive Director for International Relations Affairs at the Federal German Employment Agency Markus Persheur signed the agreement.
Istitieh stressed that the agreement is a continuation of a previously signed agreement that aims at following up on the employment of Jordanians in required sectors for the German labour market in coordination with the agency.
He also said that the agreement enables Jordanians to acquire scientific and vocational expertise in one of the most developed economies of the world, noting that receiving a job opportunity in the German labour market first requires learning the German language and passing required linguistic levels under previously signed agreements.
Persheur said that the agreement will pave the way for qualified Jordanian workforce to access Germany according to specialisations needed by the German labour market, highlighting the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
