AMMAN — HRH Princess Ghida Talal, chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Centre (KHCC), Spanish Ambassador to the Kingdom Aránzazu Bañón Dávalos and Ambassador of the European Union (EU) Maria Hadjitheodosiou on Wednesday signed a cooperation agreement with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

Funded by the European Union Emergency Trust Fund, the two-year agreement is meant to support the Jordanian Breast Cancer Programme and the KHCF's efforts towards improving service provision for Jordanians and Syrian refugees and spreading awareness about breast cancer prevention. The princess voiced appreciation for this strategic partnership towards improving healthcare services, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Hadjitheodosiou expressed keenness on providing the necessary support to enhance early detection among all women in Jordan. The Spanish diplomat said that bolstering partnerships with the Jordanian civil society and the government could be the best way forward to promoting public services and addressing the impacts of the Syrian crisis.
