AMMAN — Director General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO) Mohamed Ould Amar on Sunday expressed appreciation for the Kingdom's efforts, notably the Ministry of Culture, to prepare for the launching ceremony of Irbid as the Arab Capital of Culture for 2022.
Amar, head of an ALECSO delegation visiting the Kingdom to take part in the event, said that Irbid will see a great distinction of being selected as the Arab Capital of Culture, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Jordan will present a report to ALESCO, by the end of the year, recording the ceremony's activities to help the upcoming Arab capitals of culture draw upon Irbid's "good" experience in organisation, coordination and management of the events.
