American Concrete Institute holds conference in Amman

AMMAN — On behalf of HRH Princess Sumaya, president of the Royal Scientific Society (RSS), Minister of Public Works and Housing Falah Omoush on Sunday launched the American Concrete Institute's (ACI) Conference on Concrete Materials and Design, which is being held for the first time outside the United States.

During the conference, organised by the ACI and the Jordanian Concrete Association in partnership with the RSS and the Jordanian Engineers Association, participants will discuss the latest technological developments in the field of concrete construction and polymer compounds for building reinforced concrete and mass concrete and exploring errors in concrete construction.

In a speech delivered on behalf of Princess Sumaya, Head of Sustainable Development Technologies at the RSS Bassam Al Hayek said that Jordan seeks to create a suitable building environment for its people, calling for research into innovative building methods for a future that is “more equal and sustainable”.
