Arab Regional Statistical conference begins in Amman

AMMAN — The Arab Regional Statistical conference organised by the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics, the United Nations Statistics Division and ESCWA kicked off in Amman on Tuesday.
The conference focuses on combating challenges that statistical systems face in the Arab region by following the UN Handbook of Statistical Organisation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
Director of Technology for Development Division at UN-ESCWA, Haidar Fraihat, stressed that the conference will cover the efficiency of national statistical systems in responding to global variables in the fields of technology and data.
The conference consists of many sessions, and hosts a number of representatives of the statistical systems and the organisations which support statistical work in the Arab region.
