AMMAN — The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) on Thursday announced the suspension of any form of fishing as of April 4, until June 15, a measure to protect Aqaba’s fishery resources.

An ASEZA statement revealed that a compensation will be made for all fishermen affected by the decision, inviting eligible fishermen to visit the ASEZA website to register their names.

Compensations will be offered via Aqaba Maritime and Fisheries Fund, established to this end, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
