AMMAN — The Azerbaijani embassy in Amman on Friday said that relations between Baku and Amman are advancing and developing.
In a statement, the embassy highlighted that most of the procedures related to operating an air route between Baku and Amman have been completed and that the route is expected to begin operations in the beginning of June 2021, with two flights per week.
The statement, which was issued on the occasion of the 97th birth anniversary of the late Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev, founder of modern Azerbaijan, stressed the importance of the agreements that took place during the latest visit of His Majesty King Abdullah to Azerbaijan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The agreements included a memorandum of understanding regarding mutual accreditation of sailors and a second agreement pertaining to the countries' ministries of culture for enhancing cooperation.
The fourth meeting of the joint government committee between the two countries will be held in Baku and that a business forum meeting will be organised on the sidelines of the expected visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Jordan.
Preparations are underway for an executive programme in the field of cooperation between Jordan’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Azerbaijani Ministry of Education for 2020 and 2021.
The two sides are also discussing the possibility of increasing the number of scholarships for students from both countries, according to the statement.
