AMMAN — Balqa Governor Firas Abu Gaoud and a delegation from the Finnish Relief Organisation on Tuesday discussed procedures for implementing a project titled "Creating attractive jobs for young people in the agriculture sector".
The discussions were held during the delegation’s visit to Balqa, 35km northwest of Amman, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The project aims to provide jobs for young people in farms and agricultural companies in the Jordan Valley region, as well as increasing marketing opportunities and improving farmers' income by offering technical training.
The Finnish embassy-funded project, with a total value of JD3 million, will be implemented over three years in partnership with the University of Science and Technology, the Agricultural Engineers Association and Jordan Exporters and Producers Association for Fruits and Vegetables.
