Bataineh, Japanese envoy talk cooperation

AMMAN — Minister of Labour Nidal Bataineh on Thursday met with Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Hidenao Yanagi to discuss ways of furthering bilateral relations between the two countries within the fields of mutual interest, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During the meeting, Bataineh highlighted the “tangible” growth witnessed by Jordanian-Japanese relations, which has reflected positively on a number of economic, political and service sectors.

The minister stressed the need to continue developing coordination, especially in the fields of labour. Bataineh also invited Japanese investors to invest in the establishment of factories in fields outside the textile industry.

The minister commended Japanese support to the Ministry of Labour in implementing a host of programmes via the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

Meanwhile, Yanagi expressed his country’s desire to develop and enhance bilateral relations, commending the level they have already achieved in a number of fields.
