AMMAN — The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, on Sunday approved the draft nursery bylaw for the year 2024, which aims to encourage the establishment of childcare centres to support working women through a safe and stimulating environment for their children.

The draft bylaw outlines licensing procedures for various types of childcare centres, regulations for monitoring and inspection, and penalties for violations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The Cabinet also approved the makruma (Royal benefaction) bylaw for children of teachers for the year 2024, to complete the issuance procedures according to the regulations. The bylaw aligns with the general policy for student admissions to universities and colleges for the academic year 2022/2023, and also the Economic Modernisation Vision, particularly in enhancing vocational and technical education.

The Council of Ministers also endorsed the National Committee for Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing bylaw for 2024, which aligns with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Law of 2021.

The Cabinet appointed Hisham Haisa as secretary-general of the Jordan Valley Authority and accepted the resignation of   secretary-general of the National Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases Centre Mohammad Sharif Yahya.
