Chambers of industry launch fundraising campaign for Gaza

AMMAN —The Kingdom's Chambers of Industry on Monday announced the launch of a fundraising campaign to support the people of Gaza Strip in the face of the brutal Israeli aggression, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

In a joint meeting at the headquarters of the Jordan Chamber of Industry, the chambers formed a committee to coordinate with concerned authorities to deliver donations to the people of Gaza Strip, affirming that the industrial sector stands united under the Hashemite leadership in defence of Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque in particular and Palestine in general.

They stressed the industrial sector's readiness to supply the markets in Palestine with all needed goods, calling for finding solutions to overcome the obstacles imposed by the occupation authorities pertaining to supplying products to the Palestinian markets.

Meanwhile, the Board of Directors of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) during an emergency session decided to allocate an amount of JD200,000 to support Jerusalem and Gaza.

According to a JCC statement, the chamber will coordinate with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) to deliver in-kind aid, including medications, to meet Jerusalem and Gaza’s emergency needs.

Members of the board of directors also decided to organise a sit-in in solidarity with the Palestinians in front of the JCC to be held next Saturday, urging representatives of the business and services sectors to take part in the upcoming event, Petra added.
