AMMAN — On Friday and Saturday, the Cultural Palace will be “transformed into an ice skating rink for the world famous Ice Stars” as they perform their “Snow White” show, organisers said Tuesday.

“Snow White on Ice” features elements such as the magic mirror, the poisoned apple, the glass coffin, matricide, filicide, and all the popular characters of the fairy tale, Friends of Jordan Festivals (FJF) said in a statement.

Former world Olympic level ice skaters will be performing the show, expected to also include “a spinning fire hula-hoopist, aerial rope tricks... [and] original music”, the FJF statement added.

Two performances, at 11am and at 5pm, are planned on each day, and tickets are available on karasi.com and at FJF’s offices at Zara Expo.

The FJF is also inviting a number of young people from charities and institutions concerned with people with disabilities and public schools, as well as a number of patients at the King Hussein Cancer Centre to attend the show, “based on the belief in the important role of art in building the community and allowing all the tiers of the Jordanian society to participate in events of this [calibre]”, the statement said.

The organisers also thanked the Tourism Ministry, the Jordan Tourism Board and the Greater Amman Municipality for their support.
