Culture, Tourism ministries join hands for ‘Irbid, Arab Capital of Culture' project

AMAMN — The ministries of Culture and Tourism are working hand in hand to make the activities of the "Irbid, Arab Capital of Culture for 2022" project successful, Minister of Culture Haifa Najjar said on Saturday.

Accompanied by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Fayez, during a visit to the Umm Qais archaeological site, as part of preparations to hold cultural activities related to "Irbid, Arab Capital of Culture for 2022", Najjar highlighted the ministries efforts to make the national project a "sustainable local development project".

Fayez said that the partnership between the two ministries aims to implement a comprehensive plan over 2022 and the next years, including linking the Umm Qais archaeological site with the Kingdom's other achaeological and heritage sites to hold various cultural activities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
