AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Prime Minister Bisher Al Khasawneh on Wednesday inaugurated the 36th Jerash Festival in the northern theatre in the ancient Greco-Roman city of Jerash, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Khasawneh lit the torch of the festival, marking the start of its activities, which will continue until August 8.
In her speech, Culture Minister Haifa Najjar said that Jordan is crossing into a new centenary in which “joy is rooted, the values of creativity are elevated, and the duality of art and culture is manifested”, according to Petra.
