DPA chief, UN resident coordinator discuss services in Palestinian camps

AMMAN — Director General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA) Rafiq Khirfan and UN Resident Coordinator in Jordan Sheri Ritsema-Anderson on Wednesday discussed education, health and relief services in Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan. In the presence of Director of UNRWA in Jordan Olaf Becker, Khirfan spoke about the DPA's efforts to improve living conditions in Palestinian refugee camps through projects and Royal makrumas (benefactions), in addition to the government's financial support to camp's service committees and sports club, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Khirfan also reviewed the negative repercussions of UNRWA's financial crisis concerning refugee services, commending the significant role of the UN agency in providing aid and relief.
