DVLD announces auction for vehicle number plates

AMMAN — The Driver and Motor Vehicle Licensing Department (DVLD) in coordination with the Finance Ministry has announced an auction for number plates, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The DVLD invited those wishing to purchase number plates to visit the Marka licensing department, with a certified bank cheque holding the name of the DVLD accountant, or to pay in cash as a deposit. The values will be JD 3,000 for single or double digits, and JD 1,000 for triple, quadruple or quintuple digits.

According to the announcement, 16 per cent will be added to the value of the last bid and the person who wins the bid shall bear a percentage of the advertisement expenses.

The bidder must make the payment within 15 days from the auction date. Otherwise, the bidder is liable to lose 10 per cent of the last bid. Registration shall begin for those interested in participating in the auction from the date of publication of the advertisement until 10:30 from the auction date.
