Education minister honours winners of Queen Rania Award For Excellence

AMMAN — Deputising for Her Majesty Queen Rania, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Wajih Owais honoured the winners of the 6th edition of the Queen Rania Award for Excellence’s (QRAEE) Distinguished Principals Award and 16th Teacher Awards and the 2nd edition of the Supporting Education Directorates Supporting Excellence.

During the ceremony, held at the Palace of Culture, Owais distributed plaques and certificates to the winners and congratulated them for their achievement that represents their “dedication and positive influence” in the graduation of productive, intellectual and belonging students, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The QRAEE said that it received 3,898 applications from all education directorates across the Kingdom, including 3,590 applications for the distinguished teacher and 308 for the distinguished principal. 

 A total of seven principals and 19 teachers have received certificates of excellence at the national level, while five principals and eight teachers received certificates of appreciation at the Kingdom level.

In a speech during the ceremony, QRAEE Executive Director Lubna Touqan shed light on the development introduced by the award to its works in a way that keeps pace with the latest developments and changes in the educational process. 

 Touqan noted that the QRAEE launched a series of questionnaires that addressed students, parents, educators and concerned institutions to received feedback on candidates, where the award received more than 10,000 participations for 65 educators who were shortlisted. 

She concluded her speech by expressing gratitude to all supporters.

Members of the QRAEE, educational and media figures, the public and private sector supporters, and some 1,800 educators from all education directorates of the Kingdom also attended the ceremony.
