Faraya chairs HCCD meeting on winter season preparations

AMMAN — Interior Minister Mazen Faraya on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the Higher Council of Civil Defence (HCCD) over the various agencies' preparations for the winter season.

Faraya attached priority to ensuring the safety of all important and sensitive sites, mainly hospitals, and to take all precautions that could prevent power outages through maintaining coordination between the Ministry of Agriculture, the Greater Amman Municipality and electricity distribution companies, especially in areas where floods or snow have become known issues.

He also called to ensure a unified and clear media message, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Faraya, during the meeting attended by Minister of Social Development Ayman Al Mufleh, Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah and representatives of the Jordan Armed Forces and official and civil institutions and bodies, said that all competent authorities have prepared their winter-related plans in partnership with the relevant institutions to face any difficulties and to avoid any mistakes from past seasons.

The officials acquainted the gathering with the plans and measures set by their institutions, stressing the need for ongoing coordination and preparedness during the rainy season.
