Farmers compensated for frost damage

AMMAN — The Agricultural Risk Fund (ARF) has compensated farmers whose crops were damaged in frost spells during winter, drawing upon JD1.2 million out of the JD1.4 million allocated by the government for 2017 compensations, ARF Director Mohammad Awaideh said on Wednesday.
He said that citrus farmers received JD800,000 and vegetable farmers received JD400,000, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The director added that the fund will next month begin courses to train farmers on agricultural risk management.
