AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Thursday highlighted the importance of developing a green economy through adopting environment-friendly projects in line with efforts to limit the impacts of climate change and create new sustainable jobs.
Fayez’s remarks came during his participation in the “Climate change economies: Economic growth opportunities and creating jobs in various sectors through responding to climate change” conference.
The conference was organised by the Senate in cooperation with other ministries and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Fayez said that the event is part of the Senate’s efforts to prepare a policy paper to be presented to the government and stakeholders that will contribute to limiting the repercussions of climate change and its environmental, economic, political and social impacts.
