Foreign Ministry denounces Israeli violations at Al Aqsa Mosque

AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Sunday denounced violations perpetrated by Israeli extremists in the raids of Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif under the protection of Israeli forces which allow them to perform provocative practices that violate the sanctity of the mosque and Islamic cemeteries. Warning against ongoing provocative actions against Al Aqsa Mosque and Islamic cemeteries, Ministry Spokesperson Sinan Majali urged Israel, as an occupying force, to immediately halt all violations at Al Aqsa Mosque and respect its sanctity, according to a ministry statement.  Al Aqsa Mosque, with a total area of 144 dunums, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims, he said, stressing that the Jordan-run Jerusalem Awqaf and Aqsa Affairs Department is the sole authority to supervise its affairs and entries to the site.
