House panel to look into concerns of Civil Retirees Association

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Wednesday received head of the Civil Retirees Association Mohammad Odeinat, who urged the House to intervene in addressing the gap in pensions between new and old retirees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Tarawneh said the pension gap is a national burden, urging the House’s Finance Committee to include the association’s demands within its recommendations on the draft budget law. Also on Wednesday, Tarawneh met with a delegation from the Jordan Teachers Association and discussed issues related to education.
