AMMAN — A Jordanian delegation on Saturday, at the invitation of the Parliament of Rwanda, participated in the 145th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and its related meetings in Kigali, Rwanda, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The delegation affirmed the signing of a statement issued by representatives of IPU members that supports the reconciliation deal between rival Palestinian factions, mediated by the Algerian government.

The delegation stressed Jordan’s support for Palestine, as expressed by His Majesty King Abdullah in all Arab and international forums.

Second Deputy Speaker of Jordan’s Lower House Haitham Ziadin highlighted the role of the Hashemite Custodianship in safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and confronting all attempts to Judaise those sites.

Delegations of parliaments participating in the Rwanda conference signed the reconciliation agreement between Palestinian factions, appreciating the role of Algeria in unifying Palestine, enhancing Arab-Arab rapprochement and encouraging more solidarity and cooperation between Arabs.
