IRBID — Irbid police on Monday urged residents to be cautious while leaving banks with large amounts of cash on them as several cases of pickpocketing were recorded during the past few days. Brig. Gen. Obeidallah Maaytah, commander of the northern region police department, urged residents, especially businessmen not to leave any cash in their vehicles after withdrawing it from banks.
The police have received several complaints on such thefts.
These included the robbing of JD44,000 and JD23,000 from two businessmen in two separate incidents. The two businessmen left these amounts of money in their cars after they had withdrawn them from the bank.
