AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Youssef Issawi on Saturday visited Ajloun to check on projects being implemented in several areas in the governorate upon Royal Directives.

Issawi, who is also head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal Initiatives, met with community leaders and residents of the Shafa area during his tour, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The court chief checked on the progress of work at a project to develop tourist parks in the Ishtafena area. The plan aims to improve the area’s tourism sector.

In Baun, he visited a housing project for underprivileged families, which is expected to establish 12 housing units that will be delivered to families before the end of the year.

Issawi also checked on the construction of a military retirees club in Ajloun, which is part of a series of similar projects across the Kingdom which aim at providing quality services to veterans.

In Halawah, the chief inaugurated a football pitch for the villages of Hashimiyyeh and Halawah to allow young people in the area to practise and develop their football skills.

Issawi concluded his visit to Ajloun by meeting with community leaders of the Shafa area from the villages of Hashimiyyeh, Halawah, Wahadneh and Deir Al Smadiyyeh.

During the meeting, the chief said that His Majesty King Abdullah always calls for enhancing communication with citizens nationwide, serving Jordanians and meeting their needs according to the resources available.

Area residents talked with Issawi about their concerns and demands, which mainly focused on supporting agriculture and development projects, providing jobs, developing the level of health and transport services and establishing youth centres and public parks.

Replying to the residents, Issawi said that all their demands will be examined with the relevant public departments to review costs and potential funding.
