AMMAN — Minister of Government Communications Faisal Shboul on Wednesday extended congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), and to HRH Crown Prince Hussein, on the 67th anniversary of the Arabisation of the leadership of the JAF, marked annually on March 1.
Speaking on a live broadcast of the Jordanian radio programme, Shboul, who is also the government’s spokesperson, said: "On this occasion, we remember the first generation of brave soldiers, officers and martyrs of the Arab Army who made great sacrifices and fulfilled their national and humanitarian duties".
He also noted that the achievements of the Arab Army and other security agencies “speak for themselves”, emphasising their role in protecting the nation's borders and safeguarding its security, stability and resources amid regional and global turbulence.
He also recalled the army’s important contributions to various fields, including Hussein Medical City, which Shboul deemed a scientific, medical and humanitarian landmark.
Shboul also congratulated the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTVC) and its employees on the occasion of the anniversary of the JRTVC, also commemorated on March 1.
The minister praised the achievements of the institution and the quality of its live broadcast programme on Jordanian airwaves, a national presence for nearly five decades.
