AMMAN — President of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) Hamdi Tabba  and French Ambassador in Amman Alexis Le Cour Grandmaison on Monday discussed ways to enhance economic relations and promote collaboration between the Jordanian and French business communities.

During a meeting, both sides explored future investment opportunities in promising economic sectors, with a focus on transforming the available investment opportunities into projects that bring added value to the Jordanian economy, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Tabba emphasised the JBA's commitment to promoting investment and trade relations between Jordan and France, noting that French investments in Jordan total approximately $2 billion across a range of economic sectors, notably the water sector.

He also highlighted the importance of the Jordanian-French Business Council's role in advancing both countries' economic relations.

The council was established in 1994. Members of the Association's Board of Directors stated that the Association represents 11 important economic sectors.

He also noted that preparations are underway for an international business conference for French-speaking attendees, to be held in May.

The diplomat stressed the importance of advancing French-Jordanian relations and driving bilateral relationships towards mutually beneficial outcomes.

He expressed the embassy's willingness to work with the association to increase interaction between the business communities of both sides.
