JEDCO, PalTrade sign SME support agreement

AMMAN — The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) and the Palestinian Trade Centre (PalTrade) on Thursday signed an agreement with the intention of achieving mutual goals that benefit small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups in both countries. 

The agreement, signed by JEDCO Executive Director Abdelfattah Kayed and PalTrade CEO Rawa Jaber, also included items to develop trade exchange, and benefit from both countries' investment opportunities, targeting entrepreneurial, small and medium projects in the industrial, services, handicrafts and agricultural sectors. 

As per the agreement, the two sides are to exchange visits of delegations comprised of representatives from various sectors, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

The agreement also stipulated launching economic activities aimed to support the business environment for entrepreneurial projects and examine the possibility of developing support programmes for SMEs in the Jordanian and Palestinian private sectors.
