Jerusalem Affairs Committee deplores Israel’s policies against Palestinian humanitarian organisations

By JT - Aug 19,2023 - Last updated at Aug 19,2023

AMMAN — Secretary-General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs Abdullah Kanaan on Saturday highlighted the challenges faced by humanitarian organisations operating in Palestine and Jerusalem due to Israel's obstructive policies.  These policies falsely accuse these organisations of terrorism, resulting in closures and restrictions on their staff's entry to the Palestinian territories. In a statement marking the World Humanitarian Day, Kanaan underscored the hardships endured by Palestinians under Israeli occupation and colonisation, accompanied by the “apartheid” policies. He cited a UN report revealing the injuries of 276 Palestinians, including 60 children, inflicted by Israeli forces, along with settler attacks, property damage and hindrance of humanitarian activities. Kanaan emphasised that Israel's designation of six humanitarian organisations as terrorist entities contrasts with the UN's recognition of their reputable work.
