JMI trains over 100 students

AMMAN — The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) has held two training workshops on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) at the female scout camp in the Amman House for Youth, a statement by JMI said.

The training included 58 female students aged between 12 and 16. Another training session was held at the Saru House for Youth for 58 students aged 14 to 18. The training covered ways of verifying and dismantling news, knowing its sources, distinguishing it from rumours, and verifying pictures.

Part of the training covered the ethics of publishing pictures and the privacy of victims, the statement added.

The training was conducted in partnership between the JMI and the Ministry of Youth to disseminate MIL concepts and skills, according to the statement.
