AMMAN –– Jordan on Wednesday executed two terror convicts, Sajida Rishawi and Ziad Karbouli, hours after the so-called Islamic State (IS) released a video showing Jordanian pilot Muath Kasasbeh being burnt alive.
A security official said the executions of the two Iraqi terrorists were carried out at dawn at Swaqa Correctional and Rehabilitation Centre.
IS had demanded the release of Rishawi in exchange for a Japanese hostage who was later killed by the terror group.
Rishawi is an Iraqi woman who was sentenced to death in 2006 for her involvement in the 2005 Amman hotel bombings, while Karbouli was sentenced to death in 2008 for killing a Jordanian man in 2005.
