AMMAN — The staff of the special Jordanian field hospital/2, serving southern Gaza, continues to be on the front line, providing services to the wounded and patients affected by the relentless Israeli bombardment of Khan Yunis.
Since day one, the hospital has received 8,492 cases and performed 1,464 minor surgeries on wounds, burns and shrapnel removals. On the major surgery front, a total of 122 procedures have been performed, ranging from complex brain and nerve surgery to facial reconstruction, cosmetic improvements and vascular surgery. The hospital also provided treatment for 38 premature babies, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Tuesday.
Among the hospital's outstanding achievements was a complex procedure for a patient who had suffered a head injury, which involved dealing with skull fractures, dislocations, facial bone injuries, brain haemorrhages and tissue damage. The surgery also included bone reconstruction with plates, bleeding control and delicate removal of shrapnel from the brain.
The staffs' efforts, amid the harsh circumstances, highlight the Jordan Field Hospital's commitment to alleviating the suffering of the people of Gaza.
