AMMAN — Director General of the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organisation Abeer Zuhair on Sunday stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation with Palestine, especially in regard to the mutual recognition of certificates of conformity, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
This came during a visit by a delegation of the Jordanian-Palestinian Business Forum and the Palestinian Businessmen Forum to the organisation on Sunday, during which they discussed ways to stimulate the private sector to benefit from the agreement signed between the sides, which aims to increase trade exchange between the countries.
Zuhair referred to the cooperation between the countries in relation to training in the field of standards and specifications, stressing the organisation's keenness to coordinate with its Palestinian counterpart to serve mutual interests.
The attendees praised Jordan's role in supporting the Palestinian economy and the organisation’s role to follow up on the implementation of the outputs of the Jordanian-Palestinian Business Forum, which contributes to increasing trade between the countries.
At the end of the meeting, Chairman of the Palestinian Businessmen Forum Amer Asili and Chairman of the Palestinian-Jordanian Business Forum Nathmi Atmeh handed two honorary shields to the organisation and its director, in recognition of its role in supporting the Jordanian-Palestinian inter-economy.
