AMMAN — Senior officials from the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Monday attended the funeral of a Jordanian soldier who died in the 1967 battles in Jerusalem’s Talit Al Thakhira area near Shiekh Jarrah neighbourhood.
The remains of the un-identified soldier, draped with the Jordanian flag, were buried at Jerusalem’s Yusufiya cemetery, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The General Command of the JAF had announced that in coordination with the Foreign Ministry, a number of DNA tests have been conducted for the families of the soldiers who died near the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in Jerusalem during battles the JAF fought in June 1967.
Despite the DNA tests, they could not identity the fallen Jordanian soldier.
