AMMAN — Jordanians’ who undertook the greater Muslim pilgrimage, known as Hajj, this year had a “smooth and inexpensive experience”, Awqaf Minister Hayel Dawood said at a press conference on Sunday.

He noted that the ministry will limit its role in the future to monitoring the Hajj process, while more jurisdictions will be granted to pilgrimage companies.

This year, 5,600 Jordanians performed Hajj, including 1,400 pilgrims from official entities and 560 who have savings at the Hajj Fund.
